Vineet’s Answer
Height correlates with strength. Stronger soldiers carry more ammo, carry beefier weapons, and can also carry injured soldiers or spare equipment more easily. They bear up to heavy armour more easily and last longer on the battlefield. Eventually, height plays a vital role to be a part of the military or any other related forces.
The military only accepts candidates who fit into a distinct height range. This is primarily because the military doesn’t have the time or money to order custom-made uniforms and equipment for those who fall outside the standard ranges. Also, shipboard, tanks, and aeroplane jobs can be challenging if someone exceeds the height standards.

I wouldn't really say there are many specific to the military!
During your initial training it will simply make you stand out amongst your peers (being in the front of every formation), and calisthenics, or body-weight exercises, tend to be more difficult the taller you are. You're general level of fitness is more important.
That being said I think taller individuals tend to have more success over their lifetime. I don't have any specific sources to back this up, but I think it is common to associate height with attributes others may consider beneficial in leaders. So over a career you may find more scenarios to favor you. But in the military being tall will not save you from poor performance.
Cheers,
Lance
