Chesie’s Answer

Get good grades and maintain the good grades while if at all possible seek to shadow with a gynecologist to have a sneak peak of what a typical work day "may" look like.
Surround yourself with mentors that'll groom you to be a gynecologist.
You find most fun in any career when your passion for it surpasses your love for money.
If you work hard and stay determined and make all the necessary sacrifices, money will naturally come to you and you will live the lifestyle you always wished for.

Goodluck in your endeavors

You are on track to greatness

While in high school one of the best things you can do is try and shadow a doctor or two in the field. It is the best way to learn about the job and determine if it is something you really want to pursue. Becoming a doctor takes a long time and a lot of hard work and commitment. High school grades do not matter when applying to medical school only undergraduate ones, but getting a solid understanding of sciences in high school will certainly make taking them in college easier. Best of luck!

I think gynecology is an amazing profession to pursue since you have two lives at stake and being a doctor you'll feel amazing saving both lives. I personally disliked gynecology as a career in my med school but after shadowing gynecologists during my internship really changed that feeling for me towards gynecology and really got me thinking about gynecology as an option for my residency applications as I never felt more happy about working long hours, because at the end of the day its all worth it for those happy faces which thankyou for assuring the safety of the mother and the child. It sure is a little hectic but which branch isn't? Few other things I would like to mention is that it is a surgical branch too and if you are interested in surgery then nothing better than OBGYN. Since it is a competitive branch good scores are important but otherwise it is an excellent branch for a med student exploring residency options.
