what kind of benifits come with the job of broadcasting/anchoring? i know you can gain a lot of respect but their seems to be a lot of disadvantages that i have thought, like you work on holidays, a lot of people won't like you, etc...
i feel like it would be super hard to be away from my kids, because i definitely want to raise a family, is it hard ? do you feel like you miss a lot of their lives? #anchoring

It's good to think about both the pros and cons of broadcasting.
When I was working on a weekly national news show, some of the benefits including working with the top journalists in the field, quick thinking of questions on breaking news, the food in the green room/backstage, meeting interesting guests (like Bob Woodward), and job growth (there is a big barrier to entry but moving up in the industry has a lot of opportunities).
Check out the Bureau of Labor Statistics at (search for bls) for up-to-date information about pay, trends, and benefits and disadvantages of being an anchor.
Follow anchors and producers on Twitter, Instagram, and make note of how often they travel, how often they post, and how often they celebrate
Reach out to journalism professors at schools you're interested in attending (they tend to keep track of industry trends and what you'll need to get there)
