At this point most hospitals, and by the time you would be graduating more than likely all hospitals and state's will require a BSN degree before being permitted to apply for RN. Many older nurses who did not have a college degree have been asked to get one over the course of a fair amount of years, or they were removed in some cases.
So a 4 year degree that includes clinical rotations that make up part of that degree along with specific courses that are also required.

The minimum education needed to become a Registered Nurse is an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN). ADNs are qualified for employment in a variety of settings such as hospitals (though some require a BSN degree), long-term and transitional care, and home care. Many companies will hire an ADN if they agree to obtain their BSN within a specified period of time (typically 2-5 years) and most employers will offer tuition assistance or reimbursement for continuing education.
