Hi, Armine: nice to hear you've got some great entrepreneurial spirit. I'm going to guess you know about EBay. I've used EBay successfully to market some personal items on the web and it was fairly easy to set up and didn't cost a great deal. There is a lot of info on the web on how to start a business online (for example: http://www.ebay.com/gds/STARTING-AN-EBAY-BUSINESS-BEFORE-YOU-LOSE-YOUR-MONEY-/10000000005676821/g.html) and that's what I would suggest you do first . . . a lot of research and reading. And, as you'll probably see, the general advice is to start slowly. Best of luck!

Hi Armine,

Great question! Today small business sellers have tremendous options to sell online. I am going to list the most popular options that work with both your own product or a drop shipped product!

1) Sell on Etsy. Etsy has lower fee's than Amazon and has gained great popularity over the last sever years. They offer shipping discounts and are very popular for art, jewelry, clothing etc. Etsy allows you to run a store where shoppers can look through all your items and read about your story.

2) Create your own shopify store and market it using Facebook Ads, Google Ads, etc. This will cost you more money than Etsy as you have to pay to bring traffic to your site. This might be more organic through a platform like Etsy where shoppers are already present.

3) You can also use platforms like Grailed, Poshmark, etc to sell used items! You can still build out a bit of a store and this is very low cost to use - you can expect to pay the site a fee, paypal a fee, and a shipping fee of your choosing.

I work in the shipping space and I reccomend calculating your shipping costs in to your product as best you can. We see great success around Free or discounted shipping!

Hello,

I would recommend comparing: etsy, shopify, fb store and ebay. Be sure to compare fees and other services like paypal. Then search for your item. Make sure you know your competition and price points. Consider adding your shipping fees into your price. Most people like the idea of free shipping.

Best of luck!

Amazon is always a great choice for minimal headache for logistics management and also at a relatively low cost.
