This is such a great question. I am not sure being scared is quite the right term I think at times especially in an a emergency it is very stressful and at times it can be very sad. Having said that it so often amazing and rewarding I have delivered thousands of babies over years and the experience is so amazing when everything goes well it is like taking part in a miracle.

Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, there was only some mild anxiety when treating patients with contagious conditions, but there was only a limited number of conditions and only a small minority of patients a doctor would encounter. However, with the pandemic, there was a lot of fear initially due to a lack of experience, primarily because Covid-19 is a infection that is transmitted through the respiratory tract when you're exhibiting symptoms AND when you don't have any symptoms and feel perfectly fine. So it can be impossible to know whether you have been exposed to someone who was infected with Covid-19, and it can also be impossible to know whether you have passed the infection on to someone else. As a doctor, with the knowledge and the training, you have to look at the numbers, the possibility of transmission in every scenario, and do your best to follow all the guidelines to limit transmission.
Doctors are people too, and get infections and chronic diseases just like everyone else. But as a doctor, you can trust your colleagues, you have greater understanding of the illness and how it affects the body, and you have access to the latest medical knowledge for treatments and prognosis. And like all other people, doctors need to take care of themselves and make sure their immune systems are optimal as they expose themselves to illness.
