The Pregnancy Discrimination Act would prevent your employer from discriminating you from being pregnant. Additionally, the Family and Medical Leave Act requires larger employers to provide unpaid leave/

Karlo’s Answer

Hi Destiny:

There are a couple of federal laws that keep employers from discriminating against pregnant workers. Basically, you can't get fired because you're pregnant or could be pregnant. I have seen multiple female physical therapists work through pregnancy. They then usually go on maternity leave for several months.

Here is the pregnancy discrimination website on the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, which has more details (https://www.eeoc.gov/laws/types/pregnancy.cfm).

Hope that helps!
