To become a lawyer, you need to first attend a four year college and obtain a bachelor's degree. The field of study you pursue during your bachelor's degree is a factor law schools will consider when deciding whether to admit you or not, but it certainly isn't the only factor. I would recommend obtaining a bachelor's in Political Science or Economics, but there are countless fields of study you can choose. After you graduate from college, you will apply to law school. Whether you get accepted into a good law school will depend on many factors, such as: how good your grades were in college, the level of difficulty of the classes you took, and what score you got on the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT). When you are finished with law school you will have a minimum of two degrees: a Bachelor's (BA or BS) and a Juris Doctorate (J.D.).
Don't let the amount of schooling deter you. If you really want to become an attorney like I am, just buckle down and get good grades. Before you know it, you'll be sitting to take your state's bar exam. Good luck in your studies!
