Hi Xinyi!
All UC's specialize in different areas and they're all amazing in their own way! If you want to go into STEM, your best bet is UCSD or UCI. UCR has a really good business and nursing program, Cal has a really good Social Sciences program, UCSB has a good Econ department, etc. Just find out what you want to do and find the best school for it. Researching all of the colleges is the best thing you can do. Good luck!

Angelina’s Answer

Hi XinYi,
I think the best UCs are obviously Berkely and UCLA, although they are definitely more difficult to get into. Other good UCs are Irvine, Davis, Santa Barbra, and San Diego. However, I think the most important thing to consider with picking a school is what you want to study. Each of these schools is better known for a certain major, so I would suggest basing your decision on what you want to major in because all the UCs are pretty good schools.

Good luck!

Jasmine’s Answer

Hi XinYi,

All UC’s are good in their own way, so there are many factors when choosing the best UC for you. Some factors you should consider are your major/ minor, your interests, your lifestyle, location, price, and the programs the university offers. Since you are going to city college first, you will have time to gain a better understanding of what interests you academically and personally as well as what major you wish to pursue.

The obvious answer to your question would be UCLA or UC Berkeley (as they are the top UC’s), but those university might not be the best UC for you. I suggest you do research on which UC is best for your major and which campus fits your lifestyle more because all campuses have their pros and cons in terms of major options and activities you can do around the campus. In the end it is up to you because the UC you choose will be where you’ll be for the rest of your college career. Good luck!
