Hey Laverna!

Honestly, right now many people are struggling to stay motivated and work hard, but what you have to think about is why you're working this hard to begin with. Think about how your hard work will pay off and how sooner or later you won't be held down by school, but instead you'll have the freedom to do anything you want thanks to the hard work you're putting in right now.

I know life is hard and sometimes it seems like it doesn't get better, but let me assure you that it does, try to find small things that make you happy right now, whether it be good weather, friends and family, a show or video game that you enjoy, anything. The bad things tend to stand out more than the good because they tend to disrupt your life more than the good, but try to also think about the things that you have and are able to experience versus other people who may not be as fortunate.

There's no need to be in a rush either, you have your whole life ahead of you, experience what you can while you have it and like I said, find the good things in your life that make you happy and use them to help motivate you to a future where you can obtain more things to make you even happier; work towards a better future!

Good Luck!

Leandra’s Answer

I often struggle with this but what keeps me going and reminding myself why I do it.
Remember Why you are doing it, what is your purpose and what's your end goal in all this.
This might not help if you are doing something you hate unfortunately.

Leandra recommends the following next steps:

Take a break .
Speak to other people.
Do something you are passionate about.

Eric’s Answer

Laverna, it is easy to get burned out, especially when we grind day in and day out. It is important to find time to step away from the grind to focus on the big picture of where we are heading in our lives, studies, careers, etc. Finding some solitude once a week where we escape the day to day demands of life/education/career can offer great perspective and allow us to find inspiration to either keep us going down the path we are on or to make small or large course corrections. We may also come up with life-changing ideas. The reality is that great ideas are usually not born while doing daily tasks, as important as they may be, but rather during the time we escape from those activities.

Feeling stuck and unsure. That may be a good thing. Everyone tells us that we should be working towards a goal in life but for me and I suspect many others it was a time of inner reorganization. My suggestion is to use this time positively. Perhaps seek a counselor to guide you to understand this confusing time in your life. Just know that this is just part of your personal growth.
