The first step is to understand the licensing requirements where you live. Generally this can be found through the Secretary of State's office and can vary from state to state. In most states, to practice, and more importantly bill through insurance companies, you will need to complete a PsyD or PhD program that is accredited by the American Psychology Association or APA. Schools are only APA accredited on a doctoral level. There is only one online school accredited with the APA and it struggles to keep that accreditation.
Be sure that the schools you look into have a neuropsychology department. Be sure they are actively doing research that students can assist with, and offer student teaching opportunities.
Research your job prospects in your area and see if neuropsychology is being utilized.
