Greetings! It is awesome that you like Math, you give yourself a major boost in opportunity. In regards to career occupation it may depend on what type of math you like. The only type of math I like is financial, money will never go out of business. Look into careers in the financial sector, possible Accounting Management, Portfolio Development, Financial Management and a host of others. There really is not a limit to the occupations in the financial field. Also recognize with your math skill set you can also become a great engineer, but remember money never goes out of business.

Thao’s Answer

Hey, loving Math seems already an advantage to have privileges of choices as technology ( required math skills) jobs are crossing every sectors. My advice based on 9+ years counselling students including adult students shifting career is that do focus on your degree/ major choice that excites you to complete and achieve the deep field knowledge and skills. Jobs are changing everyday with new roles being created thanks to advance technology and emerging fields so the job(s) you have always wanted might be different until actually experience it. You may change your mind and that is fine, too. Focus on building your capabilities of becoming an expert in certain field and make your expertise your own asset that employer(s) value.

Hi,
Have you considered computer science? Although there are coding elements which aren’t for everyone, it does open up various doors in terms of a career. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics degrees (STEM) are looked upon favourably by employers, so whilst they can be a challenging, it definitely is worth the reward.

Atul’s Answer

Having spent my entire professional life in the software industry and also having one of my sons in the same field.
If you enjoy Math, you can explore Computer Science or Actuary jobs. The latter is extremely difficult and challenging.
You will get the personal satisfaction of achieving something when you write software and is used by many.
You will make a very comfortable living and always have many employers to select from especially in CA.
Take AP courses in Math (Calculus, etc.) and also take some courses such as Java, Python, C++, or GO programming languages if it is available to you.
