You can gain experience through volunteering and or paid jobs.

If for example you are volunteering ask the leadership to allow you to tray out a range of roles with different skills - organization, management, administration, communications, technology, accounting, scheduling, planning, driving, etc.....each of these require different skills for yourself and or you are asked to lead a small team. Over time you should then build a nice list of activities and experiences that you can market (add to your resume).

Writing a resume is a skill and you should ask for help and or work with on-line sites to identify best practices. When you have identified and ran the activities described above you will then need to describe them in terms of adding value. For example
- improved planning cycle by 20% year on year by.............
- reduced year on year costs by 15% by leveraging technology and automation, by .............
- increased customer audience readership by increasing volume and distribution of brochures by 20% by ...........
etc..

Hope this helps

Hi Rodrigo ,
Volunteering, jobs, and internships are all great ways to build up experience =)! Maybe consult someone or look up online for opportunities like these within the job you are searching for.

Kruti’s Answer

It's great to work for free via internships to gain experience and prove yourself to an employer and then be able to potentially get in with the same company or even a similar one.

Karthikeyan’s Answer

I would start looking for INTERNSHIPS with companies that matches your educational background, interest and aspiration. You can start as an Intern without any experience.

Start building your profile in LinkedIn, Glassdoor, etc. and start searching for intern opportunities. Start building your professional network by connecting with more people and seek advise on the career paths to choose.

Dr. Sudeep’s Answer

It depends on the job you are looking for eventually. If you want on the job training, then taking an internship, part-time role or being a volunteer will all help. If you are looking at a job that requires a skill set to be developed, then going for classes and being an apprentice will help. If you are looking for a teaching job, then being involved as a substitute teacher or giving tutorials will give you some experience. Finding something that links to your aspirations always helps. All the best.
