Hi Tre'Beon,

Mechanical Engineers typically have a bachelor's degree. You can read more about Mechanical Engineering, including job outlook, educational requirements, and earnings at the BLS: https://www.bls.gov/ooh/architecture-and-engineering/mechanical-engineers.htm#tab-4.

Hi Tre'Breon!

A good place to start in engineering is at your local community college. Here is a link to an interesting program at Richmond Community College through which you could get an Associate Degree. You could get a good job with this degree, and then your could go for another degree if you desired, and your employer might help pay for it: To learn more about this program, you can talk to the head of alumni relatoins at Richmond CC to arrange to talk to graduates to see what they are doing, how they got there, what advice they have, and how you feel about it.

To learn more about engineering you can
- talk to your school counselor to arrange to participate in coop, intern, shadowing, and volunteer programs
- visit this site, which is for students interested in engineering:

Best of luck! Let me know if and how this might be of help. Keep me posted. I would like to follow your progress.
