According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the 2016 median pay for Electricians was $52,720 per year. The median refers to a value that half the data in a set is above and half is below. So of all Electricians, half earned more than $52,720, and half earned less. That gives you some idea of the normal earnings for an electrician.

Many people confuse electricians and electrical engineers. The difference is that electricians install and maintain electrical and communication equipment. Whereas electrical engineers are involved with designing and testing electrical and communication equipment.
