The answer to this question is going to depend on what kind of career you hope to build. The film industry has many facets and roles. Obviously, the most visible are actors. The artistic side also includes directing, sound, cinematography, set design, props, sound, hair, make-up and many other important jobs. From a business perspective, you could move toward producing, marketing, even accounting and other business related activities. Today's film industry is very complex, involving many different people in different roles, collaborating to produce a successful film.

Hi Diana,
For those that I know who have gone into the film industry, you actually just start. There is no web site for that specifically. You start with what role that you want to play in the film industry. What skill do you have that you feel will bring value to film? Do you write all the time the stories that move through your head? When you read a story or a book, do you see how it could be put onto film? Do you want to be the star, playing the various characters that come up in film? It is important to start there. You should start by learning about that job role - what skills you need to hone and practice. And then start the practice. Then you can start the research, including the search for a mentor or a network of people with the same passion you have.
