College baseball recruiting is extremely competitive. There are about 34,500 college baseball players, but only about 5,400 baseball scholarships!

In order to get more exposure you need to understand what the scouts are looking for, how you can get them to notice you and what the recruiting rules are.

Here's a quick guide to college baseball recruiting and what you need to do to stand out:

While I'm sure there are avenues to pursue within the sporting world (i.e. reaching out to scouts, sending tapes to teams, attending camps, etc.) my advice would be to brush up on some marketing principles and become a marketer for the brand of "you". Look at what influencers are doing and adopt some of their self-promotional tactics to try to gather more eyes.

We've seen examples of football kickers who have been signed off of their trick shot videos or high school basketball players who have gained fame from the videos taken of them (research Zion Williamson's evolution), so we know it's possible. Gather content of yourself doing your thing - whether it's game footage or whatever - and find ways to get it out into the world. Nowadays - especially after NIL - schools will start becoming more interested in athletes with a personal brand and a built-in following. If given the choice between a two players - one of them having a few hundred thousand followers and the other having a few hundred - they are going to prefer the one that can bring more attention to their school and program.
