Hi Hector,
My brother has been an electrician for 20 years and I've seen his career grow from the beginning. There are a few ways to get started, by studying electrical or diving straight into the field. Either way you go you'd want to find a company you can apprentice and shadow on jobs learning from real projects and professionals. There are 2 fields you can choose from: Residential and Commercial. There will always be a demand in residential helping wire homes for new construction and remodels. My brother is in commercial and has a specialty in tech building out highly specialized data centers for tech companies.
There are typically 2 types of electricians - private and union. There are standards required and pros and cons to each so researching those options would also be a good basis to understand as you get started, because your experience in one, doesn't directly translate or support growth to the other.
Hope this helps and good luck!

My dad and brother were in a sheet metal union. They signed up as an apprentice with a local union. You can also check out trade schools. Unions have there pros and cons like anything else but I'd suggest looking in to a local union or a trade school to develop skills and learn correctly.
