Majoring in Economics will teach you about Supply and Demand, help you determine pricing based on supply and demand. You'll learn Statistics, Data Analysis, Marketing, Advertising, Forecasting, and more. You'll may also learn environmental economics. I've read studies that suggest Economic Majors make more money over time than business majors.
Majoring in Business will provide a wider breath of knowledge in a variety of subjects, but not at a deeper level. Subjects you will learn are Accounting, Finance, General Business activities, Project Management, Organizational Structures and Organizational Management as well as Human Resources and Operations. Many universities allow you to Major in a specific area such as Accounting, Marketing, Entrepreneurship (owning your own business), Internationals.
Business is a great degree if you aren't certain which type of business you are interested in as you'll learn a variety of subjects first and will may help you decide what area you find most interesting.
Both degrees are excellent and will allow you to work in a variety of jobs in a corporation, small business, or starting your own business.
I suggest reading as much as you can about both degrees to help you decide which sounds more interesting to you. A job will never feel like work if you are doing something you truly enjoy!
