I’d like to work in a career/job that helps people and does not require regular drug tests for marijuana. What kind of jobs should I consider?

I want to make a difference and help people without having to change my lifestyle #career-exploration #cannabis

Bethany’s Answer

Hi Rainey,

Unfortunately, I don't think there are many jobs that won't test for cannibus. If the situation is medical you may provide a doctors note. If you are into cannibus as a leisure activity that is a risk you take.
Best of luck to you on this.

Rhaven’s Answer

Hi Rainey,
I actually had the same question at one point in my career. The good news is that in 2022, there are actually plenty of roles that do not test for cannabis, and some states that don't allow testing for cannabis. For example, I live in Nevada, and aside from high risk jobs like doctors and those operating machines, drug testing for cannabis is not allowed. There are also states where registered medical cannabis patients have extra protections for drug testing. There are many fields and companies that do not require drug testing, and those that do will mention it in the job description. For example, I have worked in the nonprofit sector for many years and many nonprofit organizations will not spend money to drug test their employees for cannabis, especially when the job is not high risk. You can also choose to get into the cannabis industry directly. There are many opportunities in that growing industry. Hope this helps!

P.S. Please make sure you are of age (21+) and are using cannabis responsibly and safely! 😉
