Hi Ching,
Okay, the average career would be for you to pass the test for a teacher's certificate. Then you could look for a job at the high schools to teach your basic and advanced classes of English and French. Otherwise, you could take a class or two regarding journalism. Then you could look for a career writing the news for newspapers or the online websites of the Alternet, Raw Story, Daily Kos, Huff Post or Jezebel. Also, you might consider writing ads for corporations. As far as writing novels, books of poetry or scripts, just consider that as a hobby until you have developed your voice and learned the rules. Love, Mark

Thank you comment icon Hello! Thank you very much for answering this questions. If I am not interested in the teaching profession right now and I am more inclined to taking the path for online media and websites, is it a must to take journalism classes in the university for me to be able to get a career in this field? Rebecca’s Answer

There are plenty of careers you can choose.
E.g. Would you consider to be an Writer, Translator of English & French, Journalist, English Teacher, working the public relationship team in large corporates, etc.
You can explore more on the hiring website to look for the hiring requirement of different post. You will have a better idea what kind of careers you can work on after graduation.
You can put down a list of careers and find out more on these careers what you have interested on. If possible, try to talk to someone who is working in these careers and seek advice from the college career counselor if necessary.
Hope this helps! Good Luck!

Yes, Ching, a basic course in journalism would be important. You've got to rely on witnesses, interviews and the facts you discover through research. You've got to understand and report the when, how, why and what questions. Good luck, Mark
