Tim’s Answer

Airlines, as well as most employers, seek good employees that are dependable, show up to work and do the job that they are paid for. Being a flight attendant is a great profession and you will be able to travel and see the world. Enjoy!

Diane’s Answer

The airlines hire men and women, old, young, and they place little attention in the candidates appearance—just be well groomed. They want to know if you will represent their company well. You must always be punctual, willing to learn, comfortable dealing with all types of passengers, and most of all…they want to hear that you are committed to safety. You may find it helpful to take a course in first aid and CPR. You must be able to use your arms to open and close overhead bins, open and close the cabin doors. They will teach you what you need to know. Be professional, friendly, and confident in the interview. You stand a very good chance of being hired.

Diane recommends the following next steps:

If you have a college education, try getting hired at a major. They pay better, travel to some cool places, and you will get better benefits.
If you have a high school diploma, consider applying to a regional, but don’t rule out the majors. Ask yourself, do I come across like the airline’s flight attendants?
