Luisa’s Answer

There are some OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturers) that have their own university, so to speak. Once you are hired on you are able to attend the university while you are working so you get the hands on you need along with the theory. There are several Automotive Engineers out there that have their degrees from these universities and are very knowledgeable in their art. One good state that provides these types of arrangements is Michigan!

Hassan’s Answer

According to https://www.edmunds.com/car-reviews/top-10/top-10-automotive-colleges-and-universities-in-the-us.html it would be Michigan State or Michigan Tech.

You may want to explore if you want to specifically focus on automotive engineering rather than a more general engineering degree which would make you more marketable in other industries.

So what specifically do you like about the car industry? Based on that interest research the types of degrees that could help you get that type of job.

Thank you comment icon If you want to build things, then maybe explore Mechanical Engineering. You'll learn to build all kinds of things and don't limit yourself to just vehicles. Hassan Al
Thank you comment icon I dont think you understand i think thats stuff is cool and all but i really want to build only vehicles Michael
Thank you comment icon Hi Michael! When you say you want to build vehicles, specifically which part do you enjoy? Is it the designing part, or is it when you actually get to work hands-on assembling parts? I want to make sure that I understand EXACTLY what you like to do! Alexandra Carpenter, Admin
