How many years you have to go to school to be a doctor

Assuming you are still in high school, you want to try as hard as you can to earn top grades in math and sciences. From high school, you will work on earning your bachelor's degree probably in Biology which should take about four years. From there, you will apply and go to medical school which will be another four years. Your internship and residency when you focus and practice on a specialty (like surgery or pediatrics for example) which will take about 3-7 years.Don't be intimidated by the amount of time it will take. If it's what you want to do, the time will go fast.
