Dra. Marisol’s Answer

Hi Brad,

Both careers are medical specialty programs. That means you need to complete a four year program in Medical School first. Before that, you need to complete a honors undergraduate program with a strong pre-med education. Sciences : Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Math are part of the pre-medical courses you have to take. Some Universities requiere at least one High School Science and Math but others don't, so you need to ask directly at your preferred University what are the academic pre-requisites to take pre-medical courses.

Good Luck!

It is not a problem that you didn't study science in high school. But in college you will need to take med school prerequisites.

Typical medical school prerequisites include:

Estelle’s Answer

Yes, you can still pursue cosmetic surgery or dermatology.

Both of these require:
College Degree with pre-med requirements
4 years of medical school
Residency

In college you need a high GPA and MCAT to get into medical school.
These are competitive specialties. You would need to be in the top of your medical school class to match into either of these fields.
Good luck!
