You may want to speak to the servicing department of international car dealerships about how mechanics have paved their path into their current career as some companies may offer apprenticeship training. If you have a guidance counselor, let them know that you are looking for apprenticeship opportunities in the mechanic trade as they may match you up with a skilled local mechanic who might be looking for help.
Thank you for the advice, Mary.

If you know the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) check and see if they have a training facility close to the assembly plant. Apprentice with another Master Technician is a great way to go as well. But when you know what Make you want to work with it makes the decision easier. You may be able to get in with them and go from there. The way to climb the ladder is to be certified, always try to get certified.
