It is very difficult to be a Valorant esport players. It takes more than just being good. The best way to become an esport player is to build up a brand and reputation for yourself. In order to be picked up by an organization or an esports team, you must be suitable for them. A team will not pick you up if you have a lack of teamwork, but still perform well individually. If a team picks you up, you're considered a representative for the team/organization therefore you must reflect the values of said team. You should also consider a backup plan if you do pursue this. Out of the 14 million monthly Valorant players, there is only a small select amount of players that play in esports.

Hello Frankie,
Just as the other people stated, if it is your dream to become a professional gamer then you should try to make it happen but at the same time you always need to have a Plan B just in case something happens. As it was mentioned being an E-Sports player is not the only form of making a living out of gaming such as streaming or videos on demand with services like YouTube and Twitch to name the major players right now. A lot of the popular gamers on there started out just average gamers but their sense of humor or other aspects of their content is what made them garner a fan base but it does take time and commitment to obtain that. If Valorant is going to be your game of choice to go with the goal of E-Sports, all I can recommend is playing and practicing the game as much as you can and maybe joining a local team / tournament (which is less common due to COVID) or you can join an online group with other players of the game that can help you become better with scrimmages or teaching you different aspects of the game. Good luck and don't give up on your dreams.

If that is your dream, then I would say work towards it. But I also say that you need a plan B. Pro-Gaming just like any Pro-Sport is the elite of the elite. You stated that you are an average player, so I would say odds are against it. Where do you sit in the rankings or Valorant? What would be your next steps when Valorant is no longer the popular game?
If you are interested in gaming have you thought about careers like graphic design, website development, game development, etc....Maybe those could be your PLAN B, as you try to reach your goal of being a PRO-GAMER (Plan A).
Do you do any gaming blogs, Youtube channels etc....

I don't know too much about pro gaming but have researched enough. If you want to be a professional in anything that is competitive you need to try to be the best. The only way to do that is to outwork your competitors. In this case it would mean playing more video games. I would've been thrown out of my house for that when I was younger. There is a lot of money in it now but there's a lot of people fighting for the same chance. I would recommend you enter small local tournaments to see if you're on their level. From there you'll want to see what you need to work on whether it's to catch up or pass everyone else. Good luck, here's to you being the best!
