Follow your dreams. If you have an interest in a trade (woodworking, electrical, plumbing etc...) try trade school. You will experience the hands on opportunity to truly try your skills out. There is a need for trade! College will give you the opportunity to learn other things outside of just what you may be majoring in. Think about what you are passionate about and go for it! If one doesnt work out, you always have the other to fall back on!

Is there a particular trade you're interested in? If so, I'd recommend going that route. I've seen a number of people begin their own business after going to a trade school, joining the workforce under an established company to learn the business, and earning credentials/certifications while there. After they've gotten better at their profession and have those certifications, they are able to look at starting their own business (or at least contracting out and not needing to be tied to a particular company).
If you can't think of a given trade that really interests you, college is probably the better option as you won't be tied to a particular trade. A community college for the first two years isn't a bad idea if you can't narrow down majors/profession right out of the gate.
Regardless which path you choose, I would certainly say that for the people I've encountered who have started their own business, they've had a specific focus on the trade/service they provide (planning to start a business is great, but it needs to have a set purpose/value to get off of the ground). Best of luck to you!

As others already mentioned, it really depends on your interests and you discovering what you really like and don't like and then coming to a decision.
Trade schools definitely teach you for the trade and give you the hands on training and you would complete the program in a set amount of time. You would then receive your certificate in the trade and then go out and start looking for a job in that trade after you're done with Trade school. I believe Trade school would cost less than college.
College on the other hand is typically a minimum of 4 years to get your bachelors degree, however, you can decide what major you want to focus on as well. College is most likely more expensive than trade school too and the cost is vastly different depending on each school as well, so you'll have to do some research into the cost as well as research what majors are available at the colleges that you have in mind.

I believe it truly depends on what you're looking for right now. Trade school is great if you want to kind of stay doing one thing but college gives you variety and options.

Trade school. Hands down your best option.
1. You complete training in 3-6 months (for most trades, like welding)
2. You join the workforce faster
3. MUCH lower debt to pay off
4. Many trades today pay better than what your average college graduate makes
