You absolutely can, but for those early in their career, this may be hard.
It took me 6 months to close my first transaction as a real estate investor, and then another 3 months for my next.
Although RE investing is different from being a traditional RE agent, there are many similarities in terms of deal hunting.
I’d say you need to be prepared to hustle quite a bit for the first 6-12 months. But the longer you are in the industry, the easier it will get

You definitely can! Commission-based income is a double-edged sword. On one hand, if you put in the work and take things smart, you could be sitting on a lot of profit. On the other hand, there may be a lack of buyers at some points and it can be hard living on just commissions. The great thing about real estate is that the demand and supply will always be there and attracting buyers is a matter of catering to the right audiences.
Thanks for your encouragement!

Short answer...no. There are a lot of ups with commission only since there is no cap with what you can make but the downs can be really bad. Having months where you potentially don't get paid is very stressful. Having a job with some kind of a salary base is the best way to go.

the great thing about many commision based jobs in america(selling life insurance, real estate etc,) is that they can be part time until and are not time consuming compared to regular part time jobs. you can get a real estate license and try to make a career from the market without feeling like you have to commit a large amount of time and money.
Thanks for the advice.
