I am glad to hear that you are glad to hear you are interested in running your own business. You may need 2 key domain of knowledge to run your own business : one is the industry related knowledge, one is the business & administration knowledge, e.g. management, accounting, finance, etc.
I would suggest you could consider approach below :
1. Identify the industry you would like to run your business
2. Explore the relevant subjects on the industry
3. Find the entry criteria of the college that offer the subjects. Check if the college would offer business subjects are the minor.
4. A few years after completion of the undergraduate degree, you can consider to take a MBA course.
Hope this helps! Good Luck!

Hello Ethan. I am currently a Business Management major, but I would say the best major to learn to grow or start your own business would be an Entrepreneur degree. With an Entrepreneur degree, you will learn so much more about sustainability and multiple different ways on how to expand your business. You will definitely gain a lot of insight and it is very beneficial.

I suggest if you want to start a business you should major in something within your business school including finance, marketing, supply chain management, business analytics, management and so much more. Even if you don't major in anything business-related, you can still start a business with other knowledge as well.

Good luck on starting your business!
The majors that teach you about business can include: business management, accounting, marketing, etc. Most business programs require everyone in the School of Business to take some classes regarding each of those subjects. For example, I majored in accounting but took business management courses and marketing courses as well. Therefore, if you choose any major within your college's School of Business, you should be able to get a decent amount of knowledge about starting a business. You can also complement your knowledge from college with Youtube videos, books and articles of your choice.

Everyone who has started a business has a different story and comes from a wide variety of education backgrounds.
I would recommend gaining at least a basic knowledge of business fundamentals, such as accounting, finance, marketing, operations, and leadership. This can come from pursuing a major in one of those fields, or by just taking several business classes or minoring in business.
You should also consider what industry you would like to start a business in, and whether majoring in that field would give you the knowledge and connections to start a business in that industry.
