Hello! Depending on the company you apply for, they may require at least a high school diploma, however, I have seen plenty of cashier jobs that are available to students still in high school that do not require a diploma as long as you meet the states minimum working age. The great news is there are plenty of jobs out there for high school students to get entry level work experience, without the diploma, after school or on weekends while you are still attending school.

Hey Voc,
Hope you are doing well.
NO!
In todays world, you do not need degree or diploma for little bit more than half of the job that you see in market. I am an application security consultant and I do not have a college degree. But it doesn't mean education is not valuable. For most of the jobs in todays world (except some doctor, lawyer, finance), they require you to have skills. Pick few(1-3) skills, and master that. Companies will pay similar to someone who went to reputable school.
But while building a career or learning tools, or topics think, does that skill will also enable you to build your own things, or would enable you to work independently if you want to?
Good luck!

There should be no need for you to get a diploma to become a cashier. Many students get minimum wage jobs while in high school and some can even get supervisor positions. Personally, I've seen a 19-year-old become an assistant manager at a retail store just because he spent time and effort at the store.

Hi Voc! Applying to be a cashier does not require a diploma! Some jobs might ask for previous work experiences or if you are good with money, but as long as you show that you're dedicated to learn then you are good to go!
