Kenneth’s Answer

There are a couple of paths to enter the world of smithing and machining. The most secure route is to join the military for such a field. Navy submarines and Army Watercraft fields have machinists. Most engineering degree programs, at least in Louisiana where I attended school, have classes in this area. My roommate attended a blacksmithing class for his architecture degree program. You can self-learn, but this is ill-advised due to safety concerns. My advice is to look at three areas and chose the right on for you. You can A. attend an engineering/industrial design degree program at a university and chose courses that allow you to learn those machines, B. join an enlisted military branch in a MOS/Rate that has machining as part of its core function, or C. Go to a community college that specializes in machining.
