A good academic advisor will help ensure you stay on track to finish your degree in the most efficient manner. If your advisor is engaged they will also be able to provide you with multiple options to help figure out what classes and schedules work best for you. If for any reason you are not getting the support you need from your current advisor don't be afraid to request a new one.

I definitely think having capable academic advisors at my school made class choosing so much easier. Academic advisors are great for advice in career requirements and general career advice. They can tell you about any college related, organization based advice and having more of them makes them more accessible.
I appreciate you taking the time to answer this.

I think that having one really good advisor is better than having a lot. Since my school was relatively large I do think I would have had a more personalized experience if there had been a greater quantity of advisors.

Yes, having regular meetings with an academic advisor is really beneficial and can help you a lot. It's really helpful for you to make sure that you're pursuing a degree to help you achieve your goals, and to get the right degree so that you can go after the career of your dreams. They can help guide you in terms of classes which need to be taken, which classes have other prerequisites, etc. Academic Advisors are also great resources to connect you to other people and resources on campus which may help you succeed that you may not be aware of (different groups, tutoring resources, etc.).

I believe having more academic advisors would definitely be beneficial, because they can show you different perspectives and give you different advice on your career plan. While my major was relatively popular at my university, there was only 1 academic advisor that could help students with my major, which was very frustrating. Many students were not able to schedule an appointment with the advisor because they had to compete for limited spots that were available. Not having an accessible advisor to help with your career plan can lead to lots of confusion, so I believe having more advisors would provide a better experience.

Having more advisors for students would contribute to a more personalized experience with advising. However, it all depends on how the administration within college wants to delegate these advisors as more management will let them loose and let them take care of random students that go to their office. On the other hand, having more advisors could be beneficial if students are assigned to each individual with specializations in different groups and majors.
