If you're seeking a well paying job in the art, audio/visual technology and communications field, it's important to consider a few things:
1. First, determine how a degree or certification can be best applied in the real world. Maybe research individuals with the type of career you're seeking and learn more about their educational background; i.e. what was their educational foundation.
2. Next, seek out colleges, universities, and programs with a great reputation and job/career placement rate. These entities have spent time building relationships in their industries and with specific companies/organizations. This will enable you to link into their existing networks and experiences.
3. Finally, think about your path to success. Strive to find an economically affordable way to fund your experience. Find out ways these colleges, universities, and programs empower students to pay for their education. Examples include:
- apprenticeships
- community college programs that transfer to a degree at another institution
- grant programs
- internship programs
These are a few things, among many, to consider

HI Kat,
It is great that you have an idea of what you want to do. Your challenge here would be HOW you want to do this job and for WHO.
HOW
Some questions you may need to consider - how do you want to do this job? In person, virtually, in a team, alone? Do you want to use specific tools? Do you want to use your skills to educate, entertainment, or something else?
WHO
Salary is often a part of who you are work for. Do you want to work for yourself or to work for a company or a school? A focus on a specific company is probably not required, but a category of business would help you determine how you want to prepare for work.
