Brianna’s Answer

It will depend on what kind of job you are looking into. Nowadays, many workplaces have grown to accept more diversity and are striving away from the traditional workplace norms. I think when looking for jobs, it's also important to do research and see how that company views its employees in terms of outer appearances as well.

Janet’s Answer

It really depends on the company culture and what type of job it is. Do your research before you go in for an interview. If it's a place where you could just go see what it's like (retail store, restaurant..etc) go see what the other people are wearing. Although I am all in for self-expression (I have many tattoos) I do keep them covered at work because I want people to focus on the work I do, not on how I look. Especially at the beginning.

Kim’s Answer

Maybe. Sort of depends on what kind of work you want to do. I once referred someone to an attorney's office for an interview. He called me to let me know she had green hair. (it wasn't green when I met her!) He wasn't happy. If you want to work in the entertainment industry or a tattoo parlor, or some hotels/restaurants (some!) you might be okay.

It's usually best to present yourself conservatively and ask what the parameters are. If the green hair is more important than the job, then, that's a decision you will have to make.

Ulises’s Answer

It all depends on the job you’re looking for. For example, a retail job or food industry may not have an issue with it. Professional careers as law enforcement, lawyer, and may others may not allow it. Someone I personally know had bright red hair like the little mermaid for 7 years and was a teacher in Los Angeles, CA. It is possible to have a good job/career but it all depends. That person is now a Vice Principal but no longer has the bright color hair.

Rachel’s Answer

It depends on the work place and tour boss. Some places will not care in the slightest as we live in a more forward thinking society than in the past. However, there are specific professional jobs that are more traditional in presentation that may frown upon it. Look for jobs that suit you and have modern attitudes. Or buy a wig! Wigs were my go to when I pink hair and online interviews, no one will know better.
