can i pursue two courses at the same time
i am 16 right now and i need to choose my career so as to work for it in my last 2 years of my high school. I really want to pursue two careers and i wont be able to choose between them since i am really interested (sometimes talented too...) in them. so i dont know if i could do b.sc in biotechnology and fashion designing and the same time. (note: i would do my pg too). In biotechnology i am looking for research oriented jobs and for fashion designing my only aim is to be a part of the New York/ Milan/ Paris / London or any other fashion week ( no geographical restrictions)
pls could you help me? #career-counseling #research #fashion #biotechnology #fashion-design #student-counseling #future-careers #biotech

Hi,
You want to choose from technology and Fashion industry. I think your mind is asking you to choose Bio technology and your heart is asking you to choose Fashion designing. You will have lots of struggle and challenges your way in Fashion Industry. There is pretty tough competition and if you are financially strong and support yourself and invest lots (For your travel, food, profiles and to shell out on vendors and agents etc.) you can choose Fashion Industry. You will be able to succeed in this industry only after a lots of struggle. I would personally suggest Bio-Technology as your primary career. You can parallely explore options in fashion industry as part time / hobby. Once when you start creating your own mark in fashion industry you can take it up as a full time career option. Hope this helps.

I have good news for you! A lot of the time we spend enjoying life is away from a career, pursuing our passions. There are doctors that wrote a book, accountants that pursued travel blogging, and scientists that sing opera. You can fill your life with many different and rich experiences to help you enjoy the world you live in.
Therefore, my advice to you is to choose a career that you love, that also helps you have the time and money to pursue your passions. In this instance, let's say that you choose Bio technology. If you study that in school and work in that field, that does not prevent you from taking sewing and design classes, making your own clothing or things for friends, traveling to fashion weeks all over the world, and so on. And, none of us are required to stick to any one job our whole lives. Should you be a bio technologist that is really talented in your fashion designs, gets noticed, and you get invited to join a fashion house and present at fashion week, you can do those and stop being a bio-technologist! You could stop doing both of those things, and become a best selling author for writing a book about how a bio technologist became a fashion designer. Who knows!
The world is a wonderful place that will allow you to do many things, and change your mind many times. Enjoy the journey!
