https://weldingnearyou.com/minnesota/ has a list of public schools as well as for profit trade schools which may cost more. Carefully review any program that you're considering.

If you just want to get experience then you could also call welders in your area to see if they have any jobs. You may have to start out cleaning or just be a gofer. Then ask the welders there to help you practice and get experience. Also, you could ask companies which school or training program they prefer hiring from. That may help you decide on one.

This Union site https://ironworkers512.com/apprenticeship-information and https://www.tcironworkersbenefits.com/Apprenticeship sites may also have info on how to get an apprenticeship.

Hello! In addition to the previous response, check with your local community college. If they offer a welding program you could have lower out of pocket expenses if able to use FAFSA once you are planning to attend.

Some of the best schools for welding in Minnesota are Dakota County Technical College and Dunwoody College of Technology. Most of my Coworkers came from those two institutions.
