Hi Lily. I earned my Psychology degree from the University of Minnesota, Mpls. MN. They have one of the best Psychology programs in the mid-west. I initially wanted the degree because I wanted to be a child psychiatrist (I was pre-med). As I progressed in my pre-med courses they became tougher for me so I ended up changing my major from pre-med to Psychology. I use my degree everyday in my job as an HR Business Leader as IBM. My job consists of constant meetings which involved escalations and solving various business problems throughout the day. Taking Psychology courses helped me understand human behavior and why people do the things they do. I also coach employees at IBM through various workplace issues they may be going through.

Greetings Lily!
I've done some research and it shows, in the short answer, that Walden University is the best university in Minnesota for Forensics Psychology. However, to get the best out of forensics psychology, finding connections and networking during college helps immensely, so if you don't apply for Walden or don't get in, don't fret! It's simply a matter of what you make the most out of your college experience.

Hi Lily!
While I can't specifically recommend a local college, I can provide you with some advice/insight into the path of becoming a forensic psychologist. This is a profession that requires schooling beyond a 4-year college degree. The first step is to get a Bachelor's Degree in something such as criminal justice or psychology. The next step would be completing a Master's Degree- this could be in general psychology, forensic psychology, legal psychology, etc. There is no special certification required beyond the typical certification for becoming a clinical psychologist. You will ultimately need a Doctoral degree which you can focus specifically on the forensic side of things.
