Thank you comment icon Hi Mohammad. It's typical on CareerVillage for students to ask questions they want to know the answer to, and then for our professionals to answer those questions. It seems from your question like you are answering your own question. Maybe you could rephrase it to open it up to opinions from others, and in a way that will REALLY help you become better prepared for your future! Jared Chung, Admin

HI - GOOD QUESTION- I say this because I have often seen people who have worked for several years in one profession begin to get comfortable or are in a "status quo" mode: this may be okay for some, however, networking provides one with so many opportunities, especially in the fields of Marketing and Advertising. You are working in a dynamic, fast-paced and highly competitive environment and I like to think "the more you know, the more you grow" and vice versa. Joining business development organizations, for example, Leads clubs, who hold meetings once a month, gives you not only business and goal-oriented people to potentially work with, you will find yourself picking up on what others are saying and this sparks ideas - I believe it is so important to stay "fresh" and open to change and challenges. Your work contributes to the organization you work for as a result of your own hard work and tenacity. Part of my plan at work as always been to find a way to spread the word while giving back at the same time. It is amazing what one can truly do if they choose No Fear- Just go for it!

I've gotten a new job five times since I finished my schooling and I'm not sure if there was a single one of those jobs that I could've gotten without networking. It's hard to overstate the importance of networking.
