Anthony A.’s Answer

Not only is the practical experience of tax clinics valuable, but you feel so good helping others who are in need. The more involved you are in "non-academic" programs while attending university, the better your resume will look. It demonstrates a more rounded person that potential hiring managers are looking for.

Hi Anthony,

Great question! I personally participated in a low income tax clinic while I was in college. I loved the experience! One of our professors offered the opportunity to our class and I'm grateful for the opportunity. Volunteering at the clinic allowed me to practice in a safe, classroom-like environment. I had the opportunity to work with real clients and deal with IRS. Volunteering at the clinic will look great on your resume because it relates somewhat to your major. Any relevant experience you can get while in college is valuable.

Best of luck!
Elizabeth
