Hi Zongyin! Economics is a great major to do in college. I would recommend specifically look into the economics programs and resources that the college you are going to has. Additionally, by majoring in economics, often times you can find a job related to anything business, so I would say you could go down several career paths.

Hi Zongyin,
One career field for economics that a lot of people do not know about is transfer pricing. According to investopedia, a transfer price is "the price at which related parties transact with each other, such as during the trade of supplies or labor between departments." Transfer pricing jobs can be found in public accounting firms but many large companies have in-house transfer pricing positions available. Good luck in college and in your career!

I majored in Economics and when I left university I really didn't know what I wanted to do! I started as a Demand Forecaster, and moved into Material Purchasing, Production Scheduling, and Capacity Planning. I built a strong career base with a broad set of skills before moving into team leadership and managerial/directors roles. So to answer the question.......... Economics is a great major. It is a great topic to study and understand (not just for a career, but for your personal life too!), and employers see it as a tough degree which demonstrates your ability to learn and develop yourself. It is broad enough to open up many different career paths too.
