I think it is very important to balance life and work. Not having balance between life and work will affect your health, physically and mentally. Based on my experienced, when I was spending much more time in work rather than do social life, I feel very burnout and stressful. I feel very exhausted and even the quality of my work had been decreasing. It also leads me to having illness since I'm very busy doing work and not taking care of my health. Having good quality of sleep, eating nutrients food, and taking routine exercise is an important things to do work life balance. Also, doing adventures to gain new experiences or enjoying your favorite hobbies and gathering with family and friends while spending your time outside work is also best things to do to recharge our energy to get back to our daily routines. Remember, we only live once so don't forget to makes our life meaningful and valuable especially with our loved ones.
In addition, here I share useful information from the good source on why it is important to do work life balance.
Reason #1: Work Life Balance Will Improve Your Mental Health
One of the biggest reasons why work life balance is important relates to your mental health. When you feel balanced you’re more capable of dealing with negative emotions and thoughts. Workplace stress is estimated to be the 5th biggest cause of death in the United States. The biggest problem is that most people think they have no choice. But that’s not really true. Remember that work life balance is ultimately created through your choices. That’s also what’s causing much of your stress. By agreeing to take on more work when you don’t have the capacity or not delegating work that could be delegated, you’re creating more stress for yourself. So we really need to maintain our mental health by doing work life balance.
Reason #2: Having Balance Means Better Physical Health
Part of creating balance for yourself includes taking care of your physical health. Going outdoors are the best way for busy people that while they can do physical exercise outside, they also get benefit by having a fresh mind when they are breathing the fresh air.
Reason #3: Being Balanced Improves Your Relationships
Having a balanced lifestyle means developing deep connections with other people (and not just family, but colleagues and friends too). You’ll derive more purpose from these connections. And you’ll also feel more connected to your work (in a meaningful way).
Reason #4: A Balanced Lifestyle Increases Engagement At Work.
A less stressed, mentally and physically healthy employee who feels connected to co-workers is more likely to be motivated to work harder. And that increased motivation means that you’re going to perform at a higher level and be more engaged.
Reason #5: Work Life Balance Increases Creative Thinking.
When you’re stressed, overwhelmed and/or anxious, you have no capacity to think creatively. But with balance comes clear, creative thinking. And that means better work product too! Because we need space for clear, creative thinking.

This is very good question. In our working life, we would spend a lot of time days and nights to deliver the targets, meet the project deadline, meet quotas, etc. At the same time, it may sacrifice our personal life, e.g. not enough rest, no time doing any exercise, miss the time to spend with your family, friends, etc. , no time for your spending hobbies, etc.
Apart from work, there is a lot of precious things to us, e.g. health, precious moments with your friends, family, etc. All of these cannot be replaced by your work. That's why work life balance is very important.
So, time management is very important. We need to allocate the time on different things of our life into our schedule. Apart from the aforementioned activities, you also need to reserve some time for reflection and relax.
Hope this helps! Good Luck!

It is extremely important to balance work and life. As others have said, having a good work-life balance is crucial to your health and your career. Essentially, your career and and your personal life are typically two of the most important aspects of your life.
If you don't have enough balance, you may negatively impact the area that you are neglecting. For example, if you push too hard at work and ignore your personal life, it can have detrimental effects. This could be a loss of personal relationships, failing health, etc. On the other hand, if you don't put enough time into work, it can hinder your career. This could mean loss of promotions, losing your team's confidence, etc. Therefore, you should always aim to have a healthy work-life balance.

That's the most important balance you need in your life. Everyone has their own way managing it. Few things that I can share from my experience.
Be disciplined
Create a time schedule for your day to day life
Set aside block of time for a certain task and try to stick to that
Slowly build this into a habit
Plan ahead for everything, personal as well as professional work
Keep hobbies alive and set aside time on weekly basis
Last but not the least, never stop learning
