How do you become a stylist?

When I mean how do you become a stylist, I wondering what the qualifications are to become a stylist. I'm curious about what it takes to become either a fashion stylist or a hairstylist.

Practice! I think it's the keyword :) Ideally, supported by professional courses and building your own portfolio. I know a few people who have a master's degree and work as stylists, but I wouldn't say it's vital.

You have a few options to get your foot into Fashion Styling. First, leverage social media and practice and promote yourself. Most people get inspiration from online social media platforms such as Instagram, Tik Tok and Pinterest. It's a great way to advertise your business and services.
Another option to get experience is joining the program at a Retail Department store. Many of them offer styling services to their customers. You'll get to work with fashion, see all the upcoming trends and work with clients that will hopefully lead to long lasting relationships. It's all about networking and growing your book.
