What are some possible occupations that involve cultural preservation?

I recently graduated with a degree in Sociology/Anthropology (that's one major) and currently live in Japan. Living in Japan has given me many opportunities to visit sites of cultural and historical importance. I've always been fascinated by the history of each place and have thought of probably doing work related to preserving cultural sites and maybe even educating others about the sites. Any suggestions are welcome, and feel free to add more information and advice as well. Thank you! #sociology #history #anthropology #culture #world

The US Government hires cultural resource specialists to implement the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA). There are positions related to NHPA compliance throughout government agencies. Best of luck!

Definitely look into museums and universities that study and preserve the things you're interested in. You can also try for degrees or certifications in Conservation/Curation or Museum Studies. You may have to start by volunteering and working your way into a paid position.
