How to find summer jobs?
I want to be an Editor and I wanted to get a job as a trainee or second assistant during the summer so I could gain more experience and get to know more people in the industry. But I can't seem to find any job ads in this area. Would it be appropriate to call/e-mail some Post-production houses and ask if they have any openings? Hi Ursula,
You might want to take a look at the weekly report of pro jobs on LinkedIn. Most of the time the companies want to employ staff with 5 years of experience, but they also want to employ an intern learning the editing business in college. Take a look at a local newspaper. See if the editor-in-chief would agree to an interview. Your confidence and skills are important to show, especially the articles and blogs you've written. Of course, be eager to write and edit assignments. Best luck, Mark
