Is it harder to get jobs being international?
I moved to Canada to study and I plan on working here, but I'm originally from Brazil. I know that Canada is very accepting, but I was wondering if there are any problems with getting a job being international. #international #film-production #editing #video-editing #audio-post-production

Hi Ursula, how're you?
I am international myself, was born and raised in Uruguay (yep, neighbors) and started my career in Disney when I was 18 living and working in Orlando. To make a long story short, I've always used my international and global background as a competitive advantage. The fact that you are multi-language individual as well as a truly global citizen with an specific understanding (since you've experienced all kinds of scenarios) will be an asset to the market.
My advice will keep improving and developing yourself and get to know what your strong skills and competencies are to then blend it with your global DNA and sell it!
All the best,
Jennifer.

I will add: work on your résumé, keep studying and improving. You sould not have any problems if you have a good résumé. Being competent and knowledgeable will take you wherever you want to go.

I see this question was pre-pandemic, so I just want to add for new readers, that perhaps the only good outcome of the pandemic is that now it's easier than ever to get jobs internationally...either in location or remotely! Make sure your English is always sharp and be open to new work experiences. Also, make sure your LinkedIn profile is always updated and active, sharing ideas and engaging with others.
Hope readers can pursue fulfilling careers paths!
Best!
