madi’s Answer

When I do my assignments and assessments, what I try to do is do it in small parts. Lets say you had to write a 1600 words essay, I would start by writing down my ideas and doing a planned list of my answers one day and the next I'd start with a paragraph and so on. with bigger assessments, I allocate time each week to sit down and do them so that I don't fall behind. Also, making sure you keep a good work/life/school balance is a big must. So make sure you schedule in a little bit of time each week or so for your friends and family too.

Melody’s Answer

Greetings Thomas,

I believe there is no set way to keep yourself leveled while pursuing your academic goals. First, I believe it is important to keep ever present in front of your thoughts, why you wish to do well and complete your assignments with your best efforts. Second, be honest with yourself when a break is needed or a time to just be. Doing, doing, doing without a rest or proper reflection of your efforts can start to wear on you. Lastly, just be ready of changes and challenges, do not let them define you, but strengthen you to fight through or redirect if necessary.

Ana’s Answer

Hello Thomas,

Some of the things I did to keep a level head is work on my assignments little by little. Sometimes I didn't want to work or complete something but I would sit in front of my laptop and give myself 2 options. Either I can work on my assignment or sit there in be board. After sitting there for about 3 min then I would start to work. By limiting your options of either work or literally doing nothing then you are more inclined to work. Also, keep distractions away. Closeout the tabs you are not going to be using and only use the ones that are important to your assignment.
Another big thing that helps is to create a deadline for myself and a sort of reward system. I notice if I am under pressure that keeps me focused and I finish a lot faster.
Also, stay motivated by reminding yourself why you're trying to finish your assignment. For example: get an A in the class, graduate with honors, or get a good job afterward. In my case, it was to retire my parents early so I keep a picture of them on my desk. Hope this helps.

Ana recommends the following next steps:

Get rid of distractions
Set deadlines
Remember your WHY

+1 to Ana's answer above. I would just add it is OKAY to have distractions and Fun, it re-energize us to focus on important things.
Just remember the deadlines and work backward with the date so you don't miss it. You can use white board or planner etc so you can remind yourself of the date and plan accordingly.
Also look at the big picture, Why it is important to get the assignments done, will it impact your college grade etc.
Most important - have a positive attitude and believe in yourself and you can do anything with a plan and a focus.

Volunteer’s Answer

You must designate your own plan, and do things according to the plan, which can effectively improve your efficiency. Divide tasks into small tasks, you can complete them one by one, and it will also increase your sense of achievement. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself , if you are tired in the middle, you can relax a little, but not for too long, so that you can enter the state as soon as possible, and summarize more after the completion, and you can further optimize it next time
