Nick’s Answer

It really depends on What you want to study. There is an abundance of countries that offer courses not specific to their own native regions or curriculum's.

I lived in Scandinavia for what was supposed to be 3 months and stayed 3 years. The country and lifestyle and people I met changed all that. I have friends who studied in Italy - who originally wanted to improve their language skills and stayed on an extra 6 months/semester because they loved it so much. Another colleague who studied in France and Spain and traveled and experienced wonderful adventures - because of those opportunities and taking the chance.

Start somewhere you think you 'might' stay on somewhere longer... South Africa for example... Think about where you also might see yourself exploring more, past your studies. America and the entire country/landscape from Canada to Chile is a great example of a location - but so many countries and languages in between...

Enjoy!

Shulin’s Answer

Hi,

As everyone mentioned above, what you want to study and what they offer is an important help to answer this question. For example, you want to major in the Chinese? language, I suppose you won't choose to study aboard in European countries, and vice versa.

Other than where you want to go, what do? people offer. We also have to deal with the reality- Money. Based on my personal experience, I wanted to go to Germany to study Biology. I can't afford the living expense and language school in Germany, so eventually, I went to Taiwan for my college. Because tuition fees and living expense are affordable, they also provide a good scholarship, plus I can speak Chinese. As an international student in Taiwan, I then applied exchange program, which helped me to go to Japan for 6 months? with scholarship ( I don't know how to speak Japanese at that time). And now, I am in Japan, I can speak pretty good Japanese. I have been out of? my own country for 10 years.

Study aboard is amazing but nobody says it's going to be easy. You will have to stay apart with your friends and family, you will face culture shock. Every country has the different holiday, it's fun but it could be hard as well because you might miss your Thanksgiving and etc. In overall, it will be a nice experience. And... it's important to know what you want to study. Best of luck.

Marilyn’s Answer

I would say that it would depend upon what you wanted to study and their offerings, your interest in the culture and in the language. I would research these items and possibly speak with others who studied abroad to get their opinions.
Best of luck,
