My simple answer to your question is; You don't really need a college degree to start your business. Self-education is key. You can learn anything on Youtube, Google, edX, Udemy, etc.

Hi Tyriq,
I highly suggest getting work experience in a clothing store. That way when you have employees you will understand what stocking and being on the floor is like. You will be more equipped to enhance business policies and lend a hand as the boss to areas that are struggling. The more practical and on the job experiences you can get in an established store the better. You can also learn things they do well that you would want to implement as best practices and others that you would do better. I always found it frustrating when I was working in a restaurant and the managers had not been a server before. They were not as able to help when problems arose or anticipate what we needed.
Best,
Jaclyn

Hi Tyriq,
I would recommend working in a clothing retailer store. Preferably a store that is on the smaller side so that you will have a variety of rolls and responsibilities that you can apply to your own clothing business. Take on as much responsibility as you can so you can learn all aspects of running a business in the clothing industry. Taking a job in a clothing production factory or a tailor's studio will be beneficial on the technical side such as product sourcing, altering/creating clothing, and supply chain logistics.
Best of Luck!

I would look for a job with a small clothing business with the kind of owner/boss that you can really learn from. It has to be a good boss that you can really learn from. I would try to start at a simple position and work your way up but make sure to learn all of the aspects of the business. Especially accounting and marketing.
Be patient and don't worry about how much you make to start, the money will come if you keep going and love it. Good Luck!
