Hi Lexy,
You would want to major in interior design as mentioned by Abdul's answer. I would also suggest building up your portfolio with work you have done. I would also save design ideas you like for inspiration and start to form and intentionally work on your aesthetic. My mother is an interior designer and has been extremely successful in the corporate space and working for larger companies in their design and construction departments. She has always had side projects for friends and family to keep a creative spark but there are perks to working for larger companies with structured pay and benefits. Just a tip I thought might help on your journey!
Best of luck!

Hi Lexy! To become an interior designer you'll need to major in interior design. You'll learn to plan, design, build furniture pieces, equip/furnish residential and commercial spaces...etc
Good programs to know as an interior designer:
- Photoshop/Photo editing software: visualization, presentation, photo retouching
- CAD: planning
- 3D software: not a requirement but a great tool to have under your belt for visualization and selling your ideas.
Sketchup does the job and has a huge free 3D library.
